Scott Gibson

Vice-Chair, ConGregate 2
An active member of the fan community and con-goer since the age of ten, Scott Gibson has been involved with many facets of fandom over the years. After attending his first StellarCon on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro in 1981, Scott became a fixture at many conventions between Baltimore and Atlanta as both an attendee or volunteer. Like many others at this event, Scott spent a lot of time with UNC-G's Science Fiction/Fantasy Federation (SF3) during his college years and volunteered at several of their conventions. As a convention staff member, Scott was assistant Con Manager for StellarCon 18, as well as for PhenomaCon and PhenomaCon 2 in High Point. Scott is deeply honored to be serving in that capacity again for this year's ConGregate!

Scott's other fandom activities have included membership in STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association, where, since 1986, he's served as a founding member and chairman of two chapters, the USS Bonaventure and the USS Charon. He was also co-organizer of the 1993 STARFLEET Region One Conference and acted as Starfleet's Region One Vice Regional Coordinator. Scott is still active in Trek fandom and is currently serving as Chairman of the USS Charon and is starting his sixth year as Region One Vice Regional Coordinator.

Scott has also amassed an extensive pop culture and media collection over the years, with a heavy emphasis on Star Wars and Star Trek collectibles and memorabilia from the 1970's to today. If you get him started talking about it, he'll not stop!

In Scott's mundane life, he works at the world's largest home furnishings store, FurnitureLand South, as their Special Inspections and Quality Assurance Coordinator .
